Once again we are greatly privileged to host our 7th solo show and to celebrate our 10th anniversary of exhibiting the paintings of Scottish painter Jack Morrocco in Wimbledon Village. It is with great excitement that we view a new body of work to present to his collectors and admirers. Our new exhibition will be no exception, with a selection of exquisite traditional Still Life works; a series of Venetian paintings; Tuscan hilltops; Mediterranean cafés in Aix en Provence, St Tropez and St Paul de Vence; beautiful Lily Pond paintings and Studio Still Life works inspired by Peter Blake. Jack’s exhibitions are much anticipated and we are assured of an uplifting and exciting show.
Jack’s landscape painting strives to achieve the fleeting essence of a place and time or a particular effect of the light, which can evoke a memory in the way music does. With his European travel plans severely restricted over the last two years Jack has worked tirelessly on his favourite subjects of light, water and reflections.
The lily ponds in a nearby botanical gardens, found by chance, have provided endless inspiration for Jack’s most challenging works. His homage to Monet and the Impressionists is well known and initially it was an opportunity to study Monet’s fascination with the lily ponds at Giverny, but his own enduring passion to paint reflections, light and shade made it an irresistible subject which he continues to explore, as you will see from the new works in our exhibition.
The last few years have seen demand in his paintings continue to grow, this year in Scotland he has achieved sell-out exhibitions. His work can be found in public and private collections worldwide. Hopefully, with a more optimistic year ahead of us, you will be able to visit the exhibition and experience the quality and scale and pure enjoyment of the paintings.
We are delighted that Jack will be with us for the Private View and look forward to welcoming you with a glass of champagne.
